Private Home Care in Toronto GTA

What is home care ?

Home care is a type of care that is provided to patients in their homes. It includes companionship/homemaking services, personal care services, nursing care, physical or occupational therapy. These services can help maintain or improve your health and can be provided temporarily after a hospital stay, or on an ongoing basis if you need continued help to adapt to an illness, illness, or simply getting older.

Home care can be a more personal and comforting alternative to premature admission to a long-term care facility. It allows for the maximum amount of freedom for the individual, who can remain active in their own daily routines while receiving the one-on-one care and attention they need. Home care can also be less expensive than other forms of care, especially if nursing care is not needed. Home care can be the whole day, or just a few hours. That option is completely up to the clients.

Absolutely. JLZ Homecare can provide companionship or personal care to residents at retirement homes, nursing homes and hospitals.
The total cost is a combination of several factors, so we suggest getting in touch with us via phone call or email. We will be happy to answer any of your questions regarding costs, and we promise to be fully transparent with our fees. No hidden costs.
Yes we do. Your journey begins with a free, no-obligation in-home or virtual assessment by one of our Registered Nurses who will gather the necessary information required to build a custom care plan. Answering our questions accurately will allow our Nursing Team to create an accurate care plan that ensures the client’s safety. The care plan will then be presented to the client and the family members to see if there are any changes that need to be made. Once we are all in the same page, then we will use that information to find the appropriate caregiver that suits the client best. The care plan is reviewed every 6 months, or as needed. This will ensure that the client will always receive the most updated and appropriate care during every visit.
Every single one of our certified PSWs have been carefully selected and possess the expertise, experience and education necessary to provide compassionate in-home care. Every one of our staff possess current and valid basic first aid training, a clear Vulnerable Sector Check from Toronto Police Services, and are insured and bonded. Many have extensive experience working within the community, in long-term care homes, and in hospitals.
We believe that forming a trusting relationship between the client and caregiver is the key in a successful partnership. We strive to have the same caregiver as much as possible, but due to scheduling conflicts and other factors, we cannot guarantee to provide the same caregiver every visit. However, we do promise that the alternative caregiver will be just as caring, attentive, and skilled as the rest of our team.
Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) can be defined as the basic tasks essential for everyday functioning. Examples include, but are not limited to: bathing, dressing, grooming, eating, mobility, and assistance with toileting. Most seniors are still able to do most of these tasks, but may just need a little assistance with some. That’s where JLZ Homecare comes in. We are there to provide assistance when needed, and supervision when the client instructs us to do so. Client safety is our number one priority so if the caregiver feels that the client might be at risk, they can step in and safely aid the client in their ADLs.
Simply put, companionship is having someone around that you can trust. Our staff can help ease feelings of isolation by doing activities such as: playing board games, playing cards, reading books, making art, or listening to their favorite songs.
