JLZ Lodge was founded by a dedicated registered nurse who spent over a decade working in hospitals, long-term care, and community health settings. After years of seeing seniors fall through the cracks of both traditional home care services and institutional retirement homes, he recognized a growing need for something different.

The Vision Behind JLZ Lodge
Many seniors in Scarborough and the Greater Toronto Area are living in homes that no longer suit their physical needs. Multi-story houses with staircases, bathtubs without railings, and narrow doorways become daily hazards.
At the same time, families struggle to find elder care options that are both trustworthy and financially reasonable.

Our founder and care manager is a registered nurse with over 20 years of experience, supported by a team of certified Personal Support Workers (PSWs) and allied health professionals. This clinical leadership ensures every resident receives the proper support — physically, medically, and emotionally.
We Built a Home — Not a Facility
Unlike most assisted living facilities in Scarborough, JLZ Lodge is not a commercial operation with dozens of residents. It’s a converted bungalow-style home with private and semi-private rooms, a shared kitchen and living area, and thoughtfully designed accessible bathrooms.
Every corner of the home was built with safety, comfort, and community in mind — from grab bars and no-step entryways to shared meals and outdoor space for fresh air.
